The venue for my bridal shoot was at the beautiful Poundon House in Oxfordshire which is perfect for weddings. I wasn’t looking forward to the drive but I was pleasantly surprised that it took me 2 hours to get there from Brighton even during the rush hour.
The Manor House was beautiful inside and out and the gardens were lovely, perfect for wedding photos. They even had a marque which is ideal for those large asian weddings.
The room we were shooting in was very grand with beautiful fireplaces and original features.
I had two looks to work on that day. My first look was a vintage style look with an asian twist. The model was stunning with long brown hair.
The bridal makeup I wanted to go for was a dewy fresh look with the right amount of contouring to complement the hair. I went for nude Matt lips with peachy pinky style eyeshadow finished with beautiful false lashes. As my clients are both Asian and non asian I wanted a look that could be used on any brides with any skin colour and this was perfect.
The wedding hair was all to one side with a vintage wave at the front and a beautiful flower style bun at the side. I added a cream flower at the bottom of the bun to give it a softer look. This wedding hair style would look beautiful with fresh flowers. The bridal hair style could be used for weddings, walima or reception.
The second look was a mixer of traditional and modern Asian bridal look. The Asian bridal hair I went for was a big quiff to support the duppatta and long loose curls. To complement this look I used a large tikka with a jummar on the side. The nath was also used to give that traditional feel to the look.
The Asian bridal makeup was very arabic inspired with winged eyeliner and dark eye shadows focusing more on the eyes. The lips were a nudish type colour mixed with a hint of pink. I wanted to add some colour to the look so I added some warm pinky/peachy blusher.
The photographer was a pleasure to work with, very bubbly and fun too. There wasn’t a dull moment. The gardens were beautiful, it was sooo cold that day, had it been a little warmer I would have done the photo shoot out side. Really looking forward to sharing the professional images with you all. In the meantime here are a few shots that I took with my iPhone.
